Invoice Generator by FieldHive: how to use it

Invoice generator for Claude and ChatGPT. Describe the job in chat and an editable invoice opens with the totals and tax worked out for you. Edit it on screen or keep talking, preview it in three layouts, and download the PDF. Free, no account needed.

Connect it

• Claude: Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste https://tools.fieldhive.com/invoice-generator/mcp. No sign-in is needed.
• ChatGPT: add it as an app using the same address, where your plan allows custom apps.

Then start a new chat.

Create an invoice

Ask in your own words, for example:

• "Create an invoice for two days of labour at £350 a day and £180 of materials."
• "Invoice template for my plumbing business."
• "I'm VAT registered, GB123456789. Invoice 12 LED downlights at £18 each and 4 hours fitting at £45 an hour."
• "Tax invoice for a job in Melbourne: 8 hours at $95 an hour plus $230 of parts."

You can also just say "generate an invoice" and fill in the blank invoice yourself.

Edit it

• On screen: type into any field. Add items, labour and sections (for example one per room or stage of the job), duplicate or remove them, and upload your logo. The tool suggests brand colours from your logo, or you can pick your own.
• In chat: keep talking ("add 3 hours labour to the kitchen section", "the customer is Jane Smith, 12 High Street"). The open invoice updates in place.

The assistant only fills in details you give it. It is told never to invent names, addresses, tax numbers or bank details, and the invoice lists anything still missing.

Preview and download

Choose a layout on the Preview: Full breakdown, Materials and labour summary, or Simple. Then press Download PDF, or ask the assistant for the PDF. Download links last 30 minutes. An incomplete invoice is watermarked DRAFT.

Countries and tax

Supported: United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. The country sets the currency, date format, paper size and tax. Totals and tax are calculated by the tool, not by the AI, using each country's rounding rules.

The UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada rules have been checked against official guidance. For the US and the EU countries, check the result with your accountant before relying on it.

What it does not do

It does not send invoices or emails, take payments, or save invoices to an account. Quotes, estimates, receipts and purchase orders are not supported yet.

Your data

Invoices are kept in memory only while you work: drafts are deleted 2 hours after your last change, and PDFs after 30 minutes. See the privacy policy.

Limits

Up to 30 sections and 300 lines per invoice. Logos must be PNG or JPEG.
